Winning Together & Taking Action: Crafting Comfort for Shelter Animals

Our teams strive to ensure our values show up in how we support one another, engage with our communities, and take meaningful action where it matters most.

On Wednesday, May 13, those values came to life in a hands-on, cross-office charity give-back event. Colleagues across our New York, Chicago, and Kansas City offices stepped away from their screens and came together to craft tie blankets for shelter animals.

Taking action where it counts

Shelter environments play a vital role in caring for animals in need, but they can also be overwhelming. For cats and dogs waiting for their forever homes, everyday life can feel loud, unfamiliar, and stressful. A simple, handmade blanket can make a meaningful difference, offering not just warmth but a sense of comfort, safety, and familiarity during a difficult transition.

With that purpose in mind, more than 50 colleagues rolled up their sleeves to measure, cut, and tie and TOOK ACTION to transform fabric into dozens of blankets that will directly comfort animals in need.

“I had so much fun learning how to make tie blankets and sharing stories and laughter with my coworkers on Community Day. Each knot was tied with love, and knowing the blankets would bring comfort to animals in need made the experience feel truly special.”

 Amy Lygrisse, Sr BSA

These blankets were donated to three incredible local partners:

  • PAWS Chicago Pippen Fasseas Adoption Center, the Midwest’s first cage-free, no-kill adoption center dedicated to creating a welcoming environment for pets awaiting adoption
  • Animal Haven (NYC), a leading adoption organization known for its commitment to rehabilitation and behavioral care for vulnerable animals
  • KC Pet Project, which cares for thousands of animals across the Kansas City metro area each year, providing critical shelter and support services

“If only my crafting ability was up to the level of my love for animals, my blanket wouldn’t have looked so crazy, but I hope the dogs and cats have a great time tearing that thing to shreds!”

Shane Mayer, EVP, AI Agency

Winning together—across teams and offices

While the impact on the animals was immediate and tangible, the event also reflected a core part of who we are and how we WIN TOGETHER.

“I really appreciate having events like that where we can flex some crafting muscles for a great cause.”

Marilee Davila, Social Media Manager

Colleagues from different departments, roles, and offices came together with a shared goal not only to enrich our communities but also to build connections that extend beyond day-to-day work. The afternoon created space to collaborate in a new way—sharing stories, learning from one another, and bonding over a shared love for animals.

“The Agency knows how much I love cats, but I also love dogs. And whenever there is an opportunity to help them, I will jump right on it. It makes my heart soar when EVERSANA helps the animals.”

Jennifer Crawford, Account Resource Director

It was a reminder that when we come together around a common purpose, we create something stronger – not just for our clients, but for each other and the communities we serve.

A small act, a lasting impact

Thank you to everyone who participated and made the day possible. Your time, energy, and care will provide comfort to animals when they need it most and serve as a powerful reminder of what we can achieve when we act with purpose, together.
